Description
Hickey Metal Fabrication is seeking a Robotics Engineer. It would be your job to operate, program, maintain and troubleshoot welding robots for all phases of production.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Review new product designs to determine fixturing and programming issues.

From welding designs, set parameters and program robot to safely execute the correct welds, maximizing quality and throughput.

Run test welds to determine accuracy and quality.

Oversee the operation of the robot and troubleshoot and correct problems as they occur.

Train others and observe robots in operation to maintain safety, quality, and throughput.

Work periodically on an alternate shift to ensure full utilization of the robots.

Perform upkeep of programming and maintenance of robot and fixtures.
-
Communicate with other shifts and departments to aid in maintaining part quality to acceptable standards.

Keep work area, tools, material and equipment clean and orderly.
-
Any other duties as assigned.
Other Responsibilities
-
Operate fork truck to assist in material handling needs for the robotic cells to keep robots running smoothly without stoppage or interruption to maximize run time.

Track use of consumables and report to appropriate person as needed.

Assist with fixture design, development and maintenance.

Work in other department (Welding, Fabrication, Tooling, etc).

Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
-
High Diploma, BS in Robotic Engineering or 3-5 years prior job experience.

Strong basic math skills ability to read and interpret welding and design drawings.

Formal robotic programming/trainer experience a plus.

Demonstrate a full understanding and knowledge of MIG welding with ability to establish weld setting to optimize weld quality and meet standards.

Understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and/or hydraulic operations of robots and fixtures.

Able to stand and walk.
-
Able to reach above shoulders and outward.
-
Able to bend, squat and crawl.
-
Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds with good body mechanics.

Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment – eyewear, hearing protection, steeled toes leather boots.
